The Architecture of Music

Piano and Guitar Chord and Scale Encyclopedias

The Temple of Aphaia Drawing by Greg Aranda, Architect

The forthcoming Architecture of Music Volume 1.0 is a combined guitar and piano chord and scale encyclopedia that introduces two new diagrams into music that visually describe the sound, architecture, and relationships of notes in chords, scales, and modes. It is a trove of useful reference information that can be turned to and explored for years. The book docmuents the 27 root chords and inversions, and all the possible 4th-tone add variations of them. In all, there are some 300 chords to be explored. And the book is designed in such a way that makes exploring chords simple, fun, and easy and teaches a method of searching and exploring chords.

It includes five scales in each key and for the first time, complete root position, 1st and 2nd inversion, and add variation chord lists for every note, in every scale, in every key. There is no resource in the world that has organized and documented this many chords or designed such an efficient way for exploring chords and scales. The book is intended for people of all ages from beginner to advanced who want to expand their chord and scale vocabulary as well as gain a basic understanding of music theory.
