Inverse Modes

Just like chords, every mode (with the exception of symmetrical modes) has a negative counterpart with an inverse formula. Since the Suspended Pentatonic is a symmetrical scale, its modes inverse within it about mirror lines, similar to the sus4 chord and its inversions. Study the diagram above to see how the scale formulas and LCOF diagrams of the modes inverse about the mirror lines. When naming modes, the negative or inverse naming method can be used to divide the different names by two and immediately describe the inverse formula relationship between two modes.
